Which blocks are in place?
Share of headline respondents answering “in place” or “in place and working.”
Waiting for assessments
The first recommended missing block. Security comes first when absent, even if its layer already meets the 2-of-3 threshold.

About the assessment & your data
A practical, self-reported diagnostic, not a maturity certification, audit or scientifically validated benchmark. It identifies missing foundations and a useful next step; it does not establish regulatory compliance.
Nine blocks use the same four-point scale: absent, started, in place, and in place and working. A block is in place at 2 or 3. Strategy and Capability each require 2 of 3 blocks; Change requires all 3, including Results. Your level is the highest consecutive complete layer. Results is drawn at the summit, within Change. The next block comes from the first incomplete layer: Leadership, Security, Strategy; Technology, Data, Engineering; then People, Operations, Results.
The headline population is owners, CEOs, partners and executives at businesses with 2–1,000 people. Solo, enterprise, employee, manager and advisor responses are recorded separately and excluded from headline figures. Results are self-reported and not representative of all businesses. Size comparisons are shown only when a group has at least five eligible responses.
Based on AI Coaching’s AI Readiness Stack, developed with ACE NextGen, with question wording and 2-of-3 thresholds from Ryan’s AI Readiness Check v2. Small teams can use a one-page strategy and an existing leadership meeting; a separate committee or large data platform is not a prerequisite.
